Dr. Vinai George Biju
Data Scientist efcom
Vinai George Biju is a data scientist with experience in both academia and industry. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) in India in 2021 and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology in Rourkela, India, in 2010. In 2023, he completed a second Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) in Germany.
Vinai has more than 10 years’ experience as an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CHRIST University in Bangalore, India, where he specialises in artificial intelligence and data science. He has also worked as a software engineer at Accenture in Bangalore, India.

Reto Blum
Decision Architect
The Decision Architect has been supporting and advising entrepreneurs for over 20 years. He is a recognised expert in the fields of behavioural economics and decision architecture, and combines this rare expertise with his many years of consultancy experience. He advises companies across all sectors, leads workshops, trains sales staff, lectures at universities and appears as a keynote speaker at conferences, forums and events throughout Europe, whenever insights into human behaviour and decision-making are required.

Federico Avellán Borgmeyer
Chief Partner Officer efcom
Federico Avellán Borgmeyer is a consultant and entrepreneur in the FinTech ecosystem. After completing his engineering degree in Berlin, he worked as a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois, where he was involved in research into the first artificial intelligence applications. His career subsequently took him to various roles, including Managing Director for Southern Europe at DataCard Corporation (Madrid), a member of the Executive Board at FidelioNetworks S.A. (Madrid) and Managing Director at Postbank POSTransact (Rhine-Main region).
For the past 20 years, Mr Avellán Borgmeyer has been working as a partner at the management consultancy Amontis AG, serving clients in Europe, the Middle East, South America and China. As an entrepreneur, he is the founder of Factoring Blockchain Solutions and Tech4Fin Deutschland in Kronberg.

Dr. Björn Engelmann
Postdoctoral Researcher & Research Associate, LLM and Agentic AI, Fraunhofer IAIS
Björn Engelmann works as a postdoctoral researcher / research scientist at Fraunhofer IAIS in the field of large language models and agentic AI. His work focuses on recommender systems, generative AI, agentic AI, document analysis and software architecture – with a particular focus on applications in the legal and financial sectors.
Until 2025, he worked as a research assistant in the Information Retrieval Research Group at Cologne University of Applied Sciences, whilst simultaneously completing his PhD at Humboldt University of Berlin on the topic of ‘Context-Aware Design and Evaluation for Information Access’. Prior to that, he obtained an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Dortmund Technical University.

Betül Kurtulus
Deputy Secretary General FCI
Ms. Kurtuluş began her career at Anderson Consulting and entered the factoring industry in 1992. She brings over 30+ years of extensive experience in the factoring sector. Prior to joining FCI in 2018, she served as a member of the FCI SCF Committee and FCI Marketing Committee. Her previous role was General Manager (since 2014) and Board Member at Strateji Faktoring in Turkey, where she oversaw all operational areas.
Before Strateji Faktoring, Betül held positions at Toprak Banking Group. She also served as a Board Member of the Association of Financial Institutions of Turkey. Betül holds a BA degree in Business and Economics from the University of Marmara, Turkey.
Ms. Kurtuluş is the Deputy Secretary General at FCI. She previously held the positions of Director of Strategic Marketing & Business Development, and Regional Director CEE, SEE & Middle East within FCI.

Roland Reiser
Head of Risk & Regulatory Sales Creditreform Group
Roland Reiser has been working for many years on the digitalisation of decision-making processes in the finance and insurance sectors. His areas of expertise include automation, artificial intelligence, credit decisions, regulatory matters and transformation projects. He combines strategic concepts with practical implementation and demonstrates how companies can successfully utilise modern technologies.

Oliver Rölle
Head of Training efcom
Oliver Rölle has been part of the efcom team since 2004 and previously worked as a consultant for many years. He leads all internal and external product training courses – from standard to specialist training. Oliver Rölle has a very broad knowledge of ef3 and efX.

Arnulf Romann
CEO efcom
Mutual trust – for Arnulf Romann, one of efcom’s four founders, this is one of the key factors in the rapid development of professional solutions. Furthermore, he believes that efficiency is crucial to the success of factoring software. At efcom, he brings his extensive experience as Head of Business Analysis to bear, ensuring the seamless integration of our software into our clients’ IT systems.

Wolf Stumpf
Lawyer & Partner Noerr
Wolf Stumpf specialises in particular in supply chain finance solutions, factoring and receivables transactions. He advises clients as lead counsel and local counsel on complex cross-border factoring transactions, as well as on the structuring and international implementation of supply chain finance products, including, amongst others, reverse factoring, forfaiting via platform solutions and dynamic discounting. In addition, he represents banks and factoring companies in legal proceedings (for example, against customers, borrowers and debtors).
